Outdoor Adventures Killarney

Booking in advance is essential as places on each of the adventure courses are limited. Whether you are staying midweek or weekend, Nathan and his expert team of outdoor enthusiasts can offer a host of activities to ensure your holiday is action packed!

BANK HOLIDAY ADVENTURE BREAKS

Choose from hiking secluded trails on the Kerry Way, climbing Carrauntoohil; Ireland’s highest mountain, exploring the lakes of Killarney by Kayak; paddling down gently flowing rivers, or climbing the ice carved Gap of Dunloe.

June, July, August, and Hallowe’en Bank Holidays. Prices from €50 per person per day.

HIKING

Easy Half Day Distance 3km Ascent Flat

Time: 3 hours. Price: €50 per person, 3 person minimum.

Begin with a guided tour of 15th Century Ross Castle, one of the last Irish strongholds to fall to Cromwell. Then, enjoy a leisurely stroll on good trails through ancient oak and yew woods, overlooking the limestone islands of Lough Leane, Bronze Age copper mines, and the ruined abbey on Innisfallen Island.

Easy Full Day Distance 11km Ascent Flat

Time: 4 hours. Price:€50 per person, 4 person minimum.

Hike around the deep glaciated Muckross Lake on paved trails, past spectacular Torc Waterfall, through the vibrant Muckross Gardens to finish at 18th Century Muckross House, with a coffee and a cake from the delicious coffee and craft shop.

Moderate Full Day. Distance 11km. Ascent 400m

Time: 5 hours. Price: €50 per person. 4 person minimum.

Explore the Old Kenmare Road, an ancient coach road and now part of the Kerry Way. Meander along a narrow trail through the oak woods of Killarney National Park, past ruined famine cottages and overgrown potato fields. Descend down beside Torc Waterfall and finish at Victorian Muckross House.

Difficult Full Day. Distance 11km. Ascent 1031km

Time:6 hours. Price:€50 per person. 4 person minimum.

Climb Carrauntoohil, Ireland’s highest mountain. Follow a narrow steep path through glaciated lake-filled corries and along rocky ridges to enjoy the breathtaking views from the highest summit in Ireland!

ROCK CLIMBING

Rock Climb and Abseil on warm sandstone cliffs in the ice-carved Gap of Dunloe. Enfoy the fun and excitement of reaching for a rock handhold, manoeuvering your body up a cliff or abseiling to the ground.

Half Day. Time: 3 hours. €50 per person. 3 person minimum.

Full Day. Time: 6 hours. €75 per person. 4 person minimum.

KAYAKING

Half Day.

Time: 3 hours. Price: €50 per person. 3 person minimum.

Following flocks of graceful swans, paddle past prison Island, land on the wooded shores of Innisfallen Island to stretch your legs while exploring the ruined abbey.

Full Day

Time: 6 hours. Price: €75 per person. 4 person minimum.

Launching at the shores of 15th Century Ross Castle, paddle across the lakes of Killarney exploring wooded islands, limestone caves and secluded inlets. Stop for a picnic lunch on a rocky beach beside Bronze Agecopper mines and land on Innisfallen Island to explore the ruins of Innisfallen Abbey.
