The Malton is named as Kerry’s Best Hotel Restaurant at The Irish Restaurant Awards

The Malton, Killarney received the accolade of Kerry’s Best Hotel Restaurant at the Munster finals of The Irish Restaurant Awards, in association with The Restaurants Association of Ireland, which were held Cork on April 23rd.

The Awards are the largest and most coveted awards in the Irish Restaurant Industry; and recognise achievement and excellence throughout the 32 counties of Ireland in 21 categories, celebrating all aspects of the industry from Chefs and Restaurants, Cafes and Gastro Pubs, to Food Producers, Local Food Heroes and Cookery Schools.

Dora Browne, Restaurant Manager and Stephen O’Leary, Executive Chef received the award of Kerry’s Best Hotel Restaurant, sponsored by Pallas Foods, on behalf of The Malton. This category recognises hotel restaurants that demonstrate the very best in a dining experience, encompassing all aspects that make a dining experience memorable such as menus, exemplary customer service, atmosphere and attention to detail.

Speaking about The Malton’s win, Dora Browne said
“The Awards nominations were made by readers of the Sunday Independent LIFE Magazine, who sponsor the Awards; as well as members of the Restaurants Association of Ireland, so it really is a great honour to win an award where we have been recognised by our customers and guests.”

The Malton will now go forward for the All-Ireland Awards on Monday 10th June in the Burlington Hotel, Dublin, where they hope to pick up the title of Ireland’s Best Hotel Restaurant.
